Propane stove sputtering

Hi,

The propane stove on my boat burns with a constant sputtering noise.

It is First Wave stove, similar to Force 10. It starts burning Ok, but the flame starts to sputter shortly after.
Tried different propane suppliers, same result.

I am guessing this could be a propane/air mixture issue, however there seems to be no air shutter adjustment option.
The flame color is good (blue with yellow tip).

Any troubleshooting suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: Propane stove sputtering

P.S.: Burner parts including orifice are clean and clear.
Also, the issue occurs with larger burner only, smaller one works fine.

if it is burning blue then no need to adjust anything. check the solenoid.

Re: Propane stove sputtering

Most propane contains oil and dirt particles.

You are probably suffering from oil in a past tank.

The solution is a trap . A T fitting where the propane enters from the top , and is drawn out the center ,,with a short nipple and cap in the bottom .

The T will collect oil and crud in the lower nipple , it must be emptied at times.
