Pump Out - Avoiding a Mess

I sail on Lake Ontario and on Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Most pump out stations on Lake Ontario have a set of adaptors that ensure a watertight fit with the boa’s deck fitting. On Lake Geneva, the pump out stations have no such thing and the procedure is to simply insert the conical metal nozzle of the Hose tightly over the boat’s deck fitting. This does not create a good seal and invariably, when you first open the vacuum valve, no matter how slowly, a small quantity of black water from the holding tank escapes. In the best case, it dribbles on the deck. Worst case, it goes projectile, meaning burning your clothes and taking an unplanned shower .

Short of wearing a hazmat suit, there must be a better way. For example are there rubber gaskets one could insert over the deck fitting when pumping out to ensure a better seal? Are there any techniques you’ve found to avoid the mess?

Thank you!
