Recharge Freon Kit

Going to expose my ignorance here...

Can I use this type of kit to recharge my Isothem ASU refrigeration unit? I also see ones with leak detectors etc... Seems like an easy solution... perhaps too easy. Any thoughts, experiences etc?

Thanks,
Ben

depends, does your isotherm unit use R-134? and does it have a port to charge it?
Look at the tag on the compressor, it should tell you what type of refrigerant to use.

It worked on my Danfoss DB50 compressor. Seems even though they are 134a, they still have fittings for the old Freon compressors.
