replacing the manual sink pump

I tried to repair the old Whale manual water pump but no joy. While searching for a replacement I found this which is about 1/2 price of a Whale or equivalent...

Any reason why this won't work? The hose run is about 12 feet total and the rise would be 3 feet max.

Looks great. Kudos to you trying to restore the old pump. Truth is newer motors use way less juice. There was an option on my boat for a fresh water foot pump but no powered version.
