Avoid the brass/bronze conundrum altogether. Use Forespar or Trudesign seacocks.

Consider moving that seacock to a more accessible location. It is not difficult to glass in a small hole and start over.

My boat had one that was completely covered up by the galley casework lol.

PO added an inspection port to access it.
