Spectra pressure gauge not working

Hello!

We have a fairly new Spectra Ventura 150. After around 20 hours of use the pressure gauge just stopped working. No life whatsoever. The rest of the system still works fine.

Does anyone have experience with this? I'm hoping maybe it could be reset somehow, but can't find much information online.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Spectra pressure gauge not working

It's just an ordinary gauge and yes they do fail often. There's no way to fix them, but they're cheap and available from any industrial supply place. You should be able to match up the size, mounting method, and connection location exactly with what Spectra installed. I would use a glycerin-damped gauge which I think is what Spectra uses.

You can also get one from Spectra.

Re: Spectra pressure gauge not working

I agree with Jammer, On our Spectra water maker the pressure gauges are mechanical and cannot be reset. They can be adjusted but it is not normally done.
The mechanical gauges are typically Bourdon Tube type gauges that are reliable. Like anything else value priced gauges don’t last as long as high quality gauges.

If it was me (and this is what I’ve done) I’d buy a couple decent quality glycerin dampened stainless steel gauges and just replace when it fails. After many years I haven’t replaced one and I’ve got a spare if needed. I think they were less than $20.

It is possible that the gauge is plugged and a minor cleanup will get you back on line, but unlikely..

Good luck,
