Question spectra water maker capacity upgrade

Any smart watermaker experts out there? I have a 150GPD Spectra watermaker. (manual model) It works great but there are times that I would like more capacity than it gives. Can I get more output by providing more input pressure to the clark pump? It operates at ~ 70-80 psi now. What happens if I up that to ~ 100-110 psi using a higher capacity pump?

Re: spectra water maker capacity upgrade

Feed pump pressures at 70-80psi are already a bit high on a VT150, probably indicative of a small issue with a membrane. Unfortunatly you don't want to add a second pump to this unit as the 21" membrane won't handle the increased pressure your Clark pump will generate, not to mention that that Clark pump is not designed to handle two feed pumps at once. If you had the 200T then adding a second pump and a 40" membrane would work. Leave it as it is IIWI.

Re: spectra water maker capacity upgrade

@Tellie, I was told that the V150 and the V200 are essentially the same thing, with the only difference being that the V200 has a 10% center block instead of 7% one. Simply replacing the 7% center block with a 10% unit would essentially turn a V150 into a V200. Is this true?
