pirate Stuck in Ft. Laud - in need of a part for an old Westerbeke Raw Water pump

Hi,

We are stranded until we get this part :-( We need Westerbeke water pump">Raw Water Pump for Model #4107.

We are anchored with no power... til he can fix this.

We are looking for the rebuild kit or shaft seal. Here is a photo. My husband's phone is 207-647-5720. He's a TowBoat Capt. (the irony eh?) and I'm sure TowboatUS down here in Ft. Laud will allow us to have the part shipped there - nice group of guys. Towed us in the inlet last night - good folks.

Thanks for any help or direction you may offer!

All the best,
Maura and Mike

It isn't quite clear what part you really need. If it is just a shaft seal it should be easily sourced from any bearing/seal supply house. Just take the old one in for matching... it will be MUCH cheaper than the same thing from Westerbeke.

Cheers,

Jim

And they are very helpful. They helped me with my 4-108 last spring and their cost was reasonable, also. They are located on Million Dollar Mile just west of I-95

The raw water pump is probably a standard Sherwood pump and not made by Westerbeke. If you need parts fast try the local Westerbeke dealer but many marine diesels also use Sherwood pumps.

I found an identical, new pump online for my W58 almost half what the Westerbeke dealer wanted.

Tried RPM but ended up getting the parts at Sailorman. Very helpful albeit slow. She's running like a champ!
