I have to replumb my shower sump with a high loop to a through hull above waterline, rubber hose or those plastic sump hoses?

Don’t Use Corrugated polyethylene bilge pump hose. While cheap, easy to run, cut, and bend, its ridged internal structure restricts flow, making it a poor choice. It’s also fragile.

Use a Smooth-Bore vinyl, or rubber, bilge pump hose, without helical wire reinforcement. Although much pricier than corrugated types, smooth-bore bilge pump hose offers up to 30 percent greater efficiency.

Why not use pvc pipe? It's cheap, impervious to oders, widely available, lots of fittings options and will out last you.
