I'm confused by this idea. Isn't the brine water super concentrated and likely to clog the filter more than the material dislodged by the flushing?

I understand your configuration to mean that the water and material unable to pass through the osmosis filter is then routed to either the osmosis or some other filter in revers in an effort to clean it.

I must be misunderstanding something...

The brine isn’t really very concentrated. What’s being described is to use filtered water run backwards through a dirty pre filter to hopefully clean the sediment out of it.

It’s never salt that clogs these filters.
