Re: Toilet bowl water level

Vented loop in discharge line ONLY necessary if flushing overboard...NOT necessary if only fllushing into a tank.

Vented loops in both the intake an dsicharge need to be at least 6-8" above boat's waterline AT MAX HEEL, not just when the boat is at rest. On most sailboats that puts it 2-3 FEET above the bowl. I see a lot of 'em installed under vanities, which puts below the boat's waterline when heeled, making it essentially useless.

The water feed to the head is controlled by a solenoid. You値l find it if you trace the wires from the back of the flush switch. The solenoid plunger opens and closes a rubber/plastic valve. This gets gummed up and must be cleaned periodically as the seal is no longer intact, and water continues to enter the bowel via the seacock. If the rubber gaskets are too far gone, you値l need to replace the unit. Not horribly expensive. Just vexing.

I知 pretty sure that Jabsco has a YouTube video that shows the whole process.
Sounds about right.

Jabsco part number 37068-2000

The solenoid is open when the flush button is not in use to empty the outboard side of the line and avoid what you're seeing.
My Jabsco Quietflush (37245) instructions make no mention of a solenoid valve. Just that a siphon break is required between the raw water pump and toilet and mounted of a proper height already mentioned in this thread.
