Washdown the galley

I was thinking of adding a wash-down pump. We have thick mud here and it's a real PITA. Ever being frugal (cheap bastard) I then started to think what else could the system be good for? The galley sink! Run a 2nd hose off a T to the galley and use a kitchen spray nozzle! The salt water hand pump is broken anyhow.

The pump would be anywhere from 40 - 70 PSI. For the chain I like the more power idea.. for the galley I fear it is a bit much.

Is this idea crazy???? (I know that I am.)

Re: Washdown the galley

Not at all. My "washdown" pump (40psi) does exactly that. works fine!

Re: Washdown the galley

We have pressure salt water to the hot side of the galley faucet and for the ground tackle sprayer on the bow of the boat. There is a little more rust on our cheap kitchenware but sometimes clean sea water is a great water source. I bet it saves over a gallon of fresh water per day.
