Washer Dryer Combo.

Going to purchase a washer dryer combo unit next month. Anyone want to give me pointers on correct plumbing and type of unit? I have read the ventless one's suck.

Re: washer dryer combo.

I have had good success with the top end Spendide made in Italy. It is vented. It will never compare to a big house type system but with a bit of patience it gets the job done. Ours has been used a lot over the past 6 years.

Re: washer dryer combo.

We also have a Splendide Washer/Drier unit. Splendide specializes in the RV and Marine market and they are very popular. They use about 14 gallons of water for a full wash & dry cycle. The drier uses water in the drying process.

The have a vented and non vented system. You want the vented system. We lead the drier vent to a stainless inspection port that when open allows the drier heat to discharge into the anchor locker.

You need a Hot and Cold water line and a discharge/thru hole. Do not run the discharge line to the bilge. Of course you need 120v or 240v, which means dock power or GenSet

We have been using hte machine for six years without any problems. The driers is slow and most of the time my wife washes with it and hangs the clothes out to dry.

We would buy another one of this every went bad.

Here is thier web site:
Spendide

Re: washer dryer combo.

Not related to the marine environment but, I had a non-vented drier when the military had me living in Germany last year. It worked out very good. It had a tank that would fill with water during the drying process that needed to be emptied afterwards but it still dried everything very well for me. Kept the water tank empty and the lint trap clean and never had any issues.

Was that a washer/dryer or just a dryer?
Also, what brand?

Vic
