Watermaker pump HP hose - SS fittings?

I am installing new Watermaker pump and membrane and wonder about the high pressure hose fittings

While some seem to get away with a SS sleeved or simple steel pump head and flushing every use with fresh water, I understand that the pump head needs to be NAB, SS, or Ti in order to survive high pressure salt water in the long term.
I have decided on SS

Same for the high pressure hose end fittings?
If so then that is not something that I will be able to get fabricated in Fiji at the local hose shop and will have to ship SS fittings with all the other kit.

What do the likes of Village Marine use? I am not near my boat now and cannot check what I have now on my "Little Wonder"

I do not about Village Marine but others use 316 stainless steel for the fittings in the high pressure hoses (say above 200 psi). Below 200 psi they mix 316 and plastic fittings.
I am packing to fly to Nadi tomorrow and will work on someone else's boat before we depart towards Opua. Send me a PM if you want me to look at things for you.

Yes, you will want to use SS hose fittings. May be hard to find in Fiji but you never know. If so it should not be too difficult to order from someone like this:

Stainless Steel Hydraulic Fittings

If you know the exact length of your hoses you can order complete hoses with stainless fittings. It may be easier (and more expensive) to simply order field replaceable SS fittings and source the hose in Fiji.

Thanks and SS it the way to go.
I will buy the SS ends and have the hoses fabricated in Lautoka

Failing that I will use local steel fittings for the 2 months and then buy proper SS hoses the next time I am back in Canada

Consider getting "food grade" hose before you travel. In other places like Fiji they do not worry about those things.

Re: Watermaker pump HP hose - SS fittings?

I would recommend using all marine grade SS 316 parts including the high pressure pump, and choosing a pump for seawater reverse osmosis that has ceramic plungers. I would have the high pressure hoses professionally made if you do not have the equipment to make them yourself.
That way you will get plenty of years out of the system.

When I went to get hose parts at the local Parker (owns Village Marine), they said they only use Titanium on their watermaker fittings now. I didn't ask when that started.
