Whale inlet manifold problem

Hi pulled apart a Whale two way manifold . Nothing inside. Should there be? How can one manifold suck if the other is not in water? Electric sensor works fine. Appreciate comments. Craig

Craig, it's not clear what the problem is. Could you expand on your post?

Re: Craig

With 2 manifolds. One from a shower with water. The other from a bilge with no water How can it suck water from the shower if the bilge is dry therefore sucking air? My manifold doesn’t have anything inside it to overcome this problem. Should there be?

Two Way Manifold MUST NOT be mounted above the level of any grey waste drain.

Looking at the manuals posted above, and Mr May's explanation, it seems that nothing needs to be inside - it just relies on water finding its level in each pipe, so the pump doesn't suck air from one side.
