Many above waterline thru hulls are acetal not marelon. Standard acetal is normally white, but Ive never seen white marelon (doesnt mean its not available, Ive just not encountered it). Are you sure what material you have?

White acetal, as often used in blocks, does start to break down after 10 years or so here in the tropics. I just had to replace all my in mast sheeves because they were deteriorating badly after 17 years.

White Marelon is available, from Forespar as well as from Trudesign(NZ) not under the trademarked Marelon name.
