Maybe so Peggie. It would never occurred to my to try it. Of course I always had easy access to the correct parts. No telling what happens out in the real world.

Which is why you've never had any reason to compare the price of a Groco HF kit with that of any of the Raritan manual toilet kits. Groco's very proud of theirs!

I don't think my electric heads had that option, but maybe. Either way, we just prefer the manual pump.

And our manual pumps most certainly do bring fresh flush water into the bowl with the "wet" setting. Enough to partially fill the bowl and achieve the results you mention. In fact, after emptying the holding tank, I'll pump it a few dozen times to partly re-fill and empty the tank again. I have to switch to "dry" after a while or I'll overflow the bowl.

We use stock Jabsco cheap-o units. They're simple, they work great, and if anything ever fails, I have a full replacement pump assembly ready to go. It's cheaper than buying the parts separately.

I'm not saying this is the solution for everyone, just that it's a viable one, and we're happy with it.

Re: Why does my head just swirl round and round?

This may help

I have had a similar issue with my Jabsco toilet which turned out to be toilet paper and hair (yuk!) wrapped around the macerator blade.
Got rid of all conventional paper, bought the outrageously expensive "special boat stuff", and gave a stern lecture to the ladies of the crew about using excessive paper
Lecture started, "next time it blocks the perpetrator will have to dismantle and fix the thing."
So far so good.
