A little help needed on Forespar Line Control Whisker pole

Hi All- thanks for helping me in my first reach out to the community.

I purchased a second hand line control whisker pole with a tapered end. All the internet says it is a quick release to remove the mast car from the pole. I am struggling with any sort of release.

I suspect I am supposed to 1/4 turn the larger pin for the release, but there also appears to be a (seized) set screw.

Before I get more aggressive I was hoping that someone with direct experience could confirm how the pole is supposed to release the car?

That looks like a UTS type Forespar pole end, and it’s missing a small lever which goes in the hole in the release shaft.

As you guessed, a quarter turn on the lever/pin should release the pole from the car. Check out Forespar’s website for more info..
