Anderson Winch Parts

Anyone know where to get parts in the US.

Two emails to US distributor with no response.

Cheers

Re: Anderson winch parts?

Try the Canadian or Australian distributors, or go straight to the Danish source. They are certainly in business and they are decent winches. I have four of them aboard my steel boat.

Could be worse. You could have non-self-tailing bronze Barlows you are trying to keep going at nearly 40 years old. They are on my fibreglass sloop and I treat them like pocket watches.

Re: Anderson Winch Parts

Does anyone know if Lewmar pawls and springs will fit in Anderson winches? I can get Lewmar parts fairly easily but Anderson will have to be shipped in from overseas...thanks.

Re: Anderson Winch Parts

I have Anderson winches. I had to buy replacement parts recently. (Not just a service kit) Ronstan is the USA importer. They do not sell retail. Defender will special order your parts from Ronstan. But Defender has no idea what part you need even if you tell them. If you do not have a manual with illustrations and part numbers, go to Ronstans web site and down load your manual as a PDF file. When you have the Anderson part numbers for the parts you require email Morgan Baird at Ronstan. <mbaird@ronstan.us> She can help you special order your parts through Defender. Please be nice to Ms. Baird. Like most of us, she is kept very busy. She is extremely helpful and professional. It took me less than 30 days to get my parts from Denmark. Everyone I worked with at Defender, Ronstan and Anderson were good people. My restored winches are beyond lovely.
Fair Winds,
Mark

Re: Anderson Winch Parts

Thanks but I am not in the US but NZ and shipping to NZ costs as much as the kits. I can get Lewmar parts easily. The pawls and springs look the same but I am not sure if they will fit so I was hoping somebody had tried this before.
