Antal Ring for continuous line furler lines....

Guys - I've got a screecher being built right now, and wanted to get my rigging figured out.

Can I run two lines through a single (larger) Antal ring for my continuous line furler? Thinking about a 30 degree redirect. At any given time, one line would be taut, one would be lazy.

I'm thinking the ring would stay on the line, and connected with a soft shackle pigtail of Sk-75+to a fitting on one of the Amas.

I might run the Selden double cleat as well. Unless you guys have better suggestions....

As long as the ring is large enough I think it should work. The problem would be the lines getting twisted, increasing friction and chafe.

That is what I do on the Pdq 36 , we have had zero issues with it no twisting or binding . Just make sure you get the length of the loop correct (don't ask )

Thanks for that tip - I've been noodling that through before I actually splice the continuous loop.

I think I'll put a turning block at the aft end, and a length of shock cord to keep things taut and provide a much needed tripping hazard.

I'd like to figure out how to safely cleat it when furled without dropping $125 on the selden double cam cleat thing...

paxfish ,That block looks like a lot of friction and that is one thing the continuous furlers don't like . I had the rope keeper around the drum barley touching the furling line ,boy was I surprised at how much harder that made the system to use. my ring is tied with a piece of light line for security after furling ,I use the tail to bind the furling line . Just a several half hitches

That Sir, is Brilliant!

Clearly I was overthinking it without the benefit of having rigged it yet.

Thanks!
