Antique Windlass help

Hi, the pic shows a windlass on a 1960s Columbia 33. Does anyone know if a chain gypsy was made for this manual winch? If so, where can I find one, and if not, can a modern one be easily retrofitted?

Trying to remember what those were. Ideal? I believe I've seen with a wildcat... but not positive.

Re: Antique Windlass help

Looks like a Plath/ABI bronze windlass. If so, the answer is definitely yes, b/c I have one. Mine has a 3/8” chain gypsy.

ABI/Albina Engineering Model 7-B Bronze

The Plath is very similar: The Plath base plate looks thinner than the ABI, you may be able to tell that way. Yours looks to be a Plath from what I can see.
