Barient 10P Winch Service

My 10P's are desperate for servicing. I downloaded some instructions, but I'll be darned if they work for me. I can't seem to locate the #5 Release Plunger in the drum.
Any suggestions/help will be much appreciated. The boat is an '86 Ranger.
Thanks!

The plunger is in the center spindle directly below the winch handle socket. It is basically a black plastic flap. Press a dowel into the center and while pressed lift the drum up. To reattach, simply snap the drum down on the spindle and it will lock back in place.

different 10P's

I wrote to arco winches (per mike d). There are actually 3 different 10P's. Here's a portion of their response: "There are 3 versions of Barient #10P winches - please see attached drawings:

1) file B10P: Remove circlip, item 1
2) file Bt 10 83-85: Depress Release Plunger, item 5, and lift-off drum assembly, item 2
3) file Bt 10P 87-d: Remove Cap Screw [item 6] inside the Top Cap [item 3]"

It seems I have # 1, but I'm still not clear if I just pull the drum straight up and off. I've asked them for clarification before I mess something up.

Thanks for the help!
