Batten source

I need to replace two battens in my main sail. 5/8" x more than 10 feet. I have found the shipping costs rather hard to swallow. Who have you used?

Re: Batten source

Take public transportation. Go to the nearest sailmaker, pick up the battens, return to marina. Time consuming.

Sometimes they have old or broken ones that can be re-purposed for other jobs, like spreaders for a hatch dodger.

We bought a new mainsail from Zoom Sails and full length battens supplied by RBS. The sail has 6 battens between 6.5m and 2.1m long. The battens were sent by FedEx from the US to New Zealand. All but the shortest batten were in several pieces so the box was only 2.1m long. https://www.rbsbattens.com/battens/rbs-batten-splice/
