Beneteau 36CC

Hello Everyone,

I’m new to CF and this is my first thread...I’m an avid catamaran sailor and also owned a Melges 24 but about to join the ranks and close on a monohull (Beneteau 36CC) ...

The boat is in great shape and will be surveyed accordingly and in great detail before I close. Here’s my question:

What would the approximate cost be to replace all the standing rigging on this boat? All the boats I’ve owned go through a complete rebuild in this manner....I never leave anything to chance for safety (foremost) and to (hopefully) win! I want to apply this to my cruising boat too. Just wondering what the ballpark costs would be? Thanks again!

Depends what you want to replace it with. For wire, perhaps $30,000? Dyneema is supposed to be cheaper, but needs to be done right...

I hope not, probably £3000 this side of the pond for a twin spreader rig. Presumably you want to do the running rigging with Dyneema at the same time or Acera (search the forum). Say £3500.

I did wonder after I read it a second time.

Re: Beneteau 36CC

Damn guys...for a moment there I thought 30,000?!! For that price I’d do it myself...$3K for all that rigging, for stay and dual back stays sounds pretty good? I have a lot of experience with Dyneema in our racing cats (we use it on the shrouds, trapeze lines, many places) but none on a cruising boat...I don’t think it makes sense unless its for halyards or maybe lifelines...but on a Beneteau cruiser?

Anymore info on the rigging would be greatly appreciated...thanks!!!
