Cape Dory 30 MKII

question regarding original Main Sail mid boom traveler install.
Today I was looking at a Cape Dory that have (I presume) the original hardware and the traveler seems original,aluminum,curved to match the house,nice,well secured and excellent condition,however has the pin system,wonder if any owner has changed this to a more functional system with moving/rollers blocks that can be adjusted without having to loose those pins.
I could not find the brand/make or on the boom,so to inquire on manufacturer is mute.
If any owner has experience will appreciate.
