Catalina 270 Reef Line

I have a 270 with a missing reef line that would normally run through the boom. Any ideas on how to get a line through the boom without drilling out the rivets on either end?

On most booms you can run a messenger line with an electrician’s tape. I believe to 270 has pretty complex boom ends that may make this a problem. I’d ping the 270 owners site and see what the group comes up with. I’m struggling attach a link. Search Catalina 27/270 owners group.

I had a C270, it was a pretty complex set-up inside the boom, will require removing an end, for the single line reefing. You might be able to rig a line with a fishtape for the leech and add a hook or such for the tack. I'll attach a webpage I found with some good pictures and drawings of the factory set up. A previous owner may have made modifications.
