Wink Chain in Lewmar chain/rope steering 304 or 316ss?

Anyone know (not asking for speculation) if the chain used by Lewmar in their rope and chain (Constellation?) steering system is 304 or 316ss? How about the various after market kits sold by the likes of Edson and Mauripro.
Looking to replace and cannot source 316 in NZ.

This seems to indicate that it is 305 stainless.

If it's a proprietary size, you're probably limited to whatever Lewmar supplies. If it's a standard size chain, maybe you can find a 316 version from a 3rd party.

Interestingly I have now hear back from Lewmar - they claim to use 316. Edson has confirmed that their aftermarket kit is 304 for both chain and wire.

Its actually quite a standard size, just not available in 316 in New Zealand. Also suppliers want to sell it in 10 foot lengths. That's about enough for the next 50 years.
