Cheap hardware

Hi All,

I need to replace a couple of main sheet blocks.
Does anyone know of a cheap place I can get either Harken or Ronstan blocks.
To suit 43"

Cheers

Re: Cheap hardware

Garhauer has the best price on blocks and theirs are pretty good too. I swapped out all my cheap Lewmars for Garhauers. made a difference.

Re: Cheap hardware

Neighbour´s boat perhaps. But highly unethical and then again illegal too!

Walk in, ask price, ask discount 'if you buy a couple', buy a couple.

Or try on the Internet if mailing not an issue.

Garhauer, esp. if you aren't a racer insisting on pre-race enemas for the crew and sawn-down toothbrushes.

It's cheap enough that you can usually size up the block or other piece of gear and still save money, but it is solidly built. While they aren't exactly a secret anymore, I have no idea why some folk who don't obsess over every gram don't buy their gear.

Garhauer is the best deal around (and top notch customer service, too!)

Take a look at some of the Marine Equipment resellers such as Nautical Trader, Minney's or Sailorman. Blocks are usually available in abundance and sell for very little compared with new.

I got some prices from Garhauer in US and they were good. Trouble is they won't sell direct into Australia and you have to use their distributor who's prices are approx 40% more. With the Aussie dollar being more than US at the moment someone isn't doing the right thing.

I'll try the other places mentioned

Cheers
