Corbin 39 - is there something wrong with my rigging?

Corbin 39 rigging not right?

We recently climbed the mast of our Corbin 39 we have just bought and whilst inspecting the rigging at the very top of the mast we noticed the shrouds didn’t look right. The way they enter the mast but are putting outward load onto the mast on a sharp edge. We’re not riggers by any means and don’t have access to any. I’s this incorrect or is this normal? Are we missing a stainless protector piece where the shrouds enter the mast or is there another way?

Thank you for any help.

Re: Corbin 39 - is there something wrong with my rigging?

There was just a thread on this a few days ago. It's a design that crops up here and there, seems to work, and since the shrouds aren't actively chafing the aluminum slot, it's going to be OK. The mast makers couldn't know the precise angle that the shrouds would exit, so they guessed at the slot location and got it a little wrong. If it was a big deal you'd have lost the mast already.
Sail victoriously!
