davit ideas

im building davits on my Hudson Force 50. I want it to be quite robust. its going to hand the dingy/motor and have 3 large solar panels. I was thinking of using 1.5" schedule 40 SS pipe. any experience with that? is 2" better or overkill.
thanks for the info. I would love to see any photos of some stuff you guys have done.

The previous owner of my little 29' boat built an arch for the mainsheet and used 2"! But I have never once wished it was 1.5". Go with 2" is my call.
