How did you make your lazy jacks? Do you have some kind of pattern?

Here’s a profile drawing of our lazy jack system. Our boom is 6.4m/21ft long and we have a aggressively roached main with long battens. I’ve seen smaller boats with three or even two leg lazy jacks. The key things are to balance the ends evenly along the boom or stack pack and to have the aft-most lazy jack inside the majority of the battens. Of our 6 battens the top 2 can catch, but the remaining 4 extend past the aft-most lazy jack.

The main lazy jack lines are 6mm/0.25” polyester double braid and are long enough to lay the lazy jacks flat along the boom all the way to the gooseneck. The three lazy jack lines are 3mm/0.125” Dyneema. The thimbles are low profile nylon, though I may replace them with small low friction rings for less impact on the main.
