Does Rig Rite still exist?

I've called and left many messages with Rig Rite, but they never get back to me. Are they out of business? I'm trying to buy some traveller parts for an old Nicro-Fico 19mm track system, and as far as I can tell, they're the only place on Earth to get them!

Has anybody dealt with them recently?

Thanks,
Chris

Historically very spotty service. I'd keep trying. Good luck.

Re: Does Rig Rite still exist?

I'd switch to a Lewmar traveller that costs less than the part from Rig-Rite and can be bought anywhere.

Oh, wait... I did do that. Old double-curved Nicro Fico track with multiply-repaired car available cheap. Just in case anybody enjoys getting out a hammer every time they want to adjust the traveller. It's sort of performance art.

Last I heard they're still there but famous for not returning calls. Also well known for high prices.

Re: Does Rig Rite still exist?

Well they'd have to get back to me and give me a price before I would know how much cheaper any other option might be!

But yeah, that Lewmar sliding bolt track kit (size 1) is looking better and better.

Thanks guys...

check out GarhauerMarine.com. Rugged cruiser gear at a good price. They matched the existing hole pattern on my traveller at no extra cost.

Re: Does Rig Rite still exist?

I called Rig Rite over the winter to get a quote on an item. They answered the phone but were so rude (and never did call back with the quote despite my speaking to the same - still rude - person a second time) that I decided I would never use them for anything. I would suggest you go with the Lewmar.

Re: Does Rig Rite still exist?

I went down the exact same path with my 40 year old traveler. I now have a beautiful setup from Garhaur thanks to the comments on CF. AND Garhaur is very reasonablly priced, returns phone calls and custom bent the rail to fit my old setup.

Rig Rite has the most unfriendly customer service I ever encountered.... will never buy from them and don't feel sorry if my comment is helping to drive customers away from them.

Seems like a common issue in the marine industry......especially if they know they kinda have you in a bind.

+1 for Garhauer. They will make custom lengths and hole spacing. You will wind up with a much better traveler than the Nicro Fico.

Re: Does Rig Rite still exist?

I talked to them last week to try to get Nicro-Fico cars, but they said they have no more cars - only parts. I agree - not friendly service.

I deal with Megan at this email… No phone communications, but email response has been quite good:

I'll investigate Garhauer. I remember that they always have a really nice setup at the Annapolis Sailboat Show, with tons of nice shiny bits and pieces for sale.

The guy who actually drills out the holes upon receiving my order phoned me in the middle of the day to ask if I wanted 1/4" or 5/16" on four-inch centers on my triple-block traveller. That's service and this is the result, something unlikely to budge:
