Drilling and Tapping Fiberglass

Drilling and Tapping Fiberglass is really easy to do and is a great way to add accessories to your boat.

1) Select the right drill and tap drill for the thread you want to tap.
2) Mark the location to drill and hand drill through the fiberglass.
3) Always chamfer the drilled holes top edge to prevent the gel-coat from chipping.
4) Put a T handle on your tap and keep it at right angles as you tap the drilled hole.
5) Now just screw in you threaded screw, bolt or fitting.
