Equipment (Winches, etc.) From Hurricane Wrecks

BillR99A@gmail.com
Does anyone know if and where equipment, etc. from the hurricane wrecks is showing up? Or is it? I could do with 4 Lewmar 42's preferably black anodized - if anyone knows where any are. Thanks.

Re: Equipment (Winches, etc.) From Hurricane Wrecks

I've always wondered where this parts end-up. After any of the major storms with lots of boat's damaged, I've yet to see large quantities of parts pop up on eBay or in any of the marine consignment shops I've been too. I really wonder if they are just scraped, melted down and recycled instead of moving on to the used market.

salvors remove viable parts and sell them .. find crush yard and salvor to learn exactly where in your area you can find these items.
it is also possible to put in a request for what you wish with a reputable salvor who can sell after insurance writes items off.
this process takes months sometimes years, predominantly determined by insurance response and owner desires.
