Eye Splice Help

I followed a previous thread on making soft shackles and put some together. Easy once you get the stopper knot down. I am trying to put an eye splice on the end of my jib sheet. This is regular double braid line. I am following the instructions here on the eye splice.

Trying to pull the core at at point B seems next to impossible without damage to the core, the cover or both.

Anything to make this step easier??

If you "milk" the cover back it loosens up the weave, making it much easier. I fish it out with a small hollow fid... a crochet needle works too
