Re: Floors from the 80's - How to repaint?

Camalot--

For the sake of the exercise, in my experience/understanding of (American) English as related to ship construction, the "floors" on a boat/yacht/ship are generally understood to mean the members that the "decks" rest upon. The uppermost surface of an interior deck that bears the weight of foot traffic (for example) is generally referred to as the "sole", similar to the weight bearing surface of a shoe/footware. Soles can be repaired or replaced reasonably easily whereas decks...not so much.

FWIW...

PS: Rest assured that in short order, others will emerge that will dispute the foregoing (which is why I included the qualifier '...in my experience...').
