Re: Forestay

Since nobody has chimed in to help you ,I will try. First question is, do you have the original damaged headstay, so that you can just take it to a rigger and say "make me another"? Next question is if the mast can be lowered easily(most McGreagers can)? If the mast is already down and the stay is missing, you will probably need to consult a rigger who will measure or find the proper length from the owners group. Google the owners group and you will find much more info for that boat than you will on this forum. Good Luck with it,_______Grant.

Re: Forestay

Make sure to use new cotter keys(stainless) and check all of the rest of the rigging. Good Luck.____Grant.

I may upgrade all the rigging, as well as put a chain plate or block, to ensure that if it happens again, it won't take my head off.
