Re: Galvanised (Galvanized) rigging?

dont mix metals - I did an experiment with my backstays -used gal wire, copper swages and ss thimbles. the gal wire started showing surface rust within 2 years - the same wire fitted as shrouds at the same time with gal thimbles and swages is still clean after 5 years - although I have used ss bottlescrews all round and they dont seem to cause a problem.
