Gooseneck on Z-Diffusion boom / mast

I have been trying to diagnose some squeaking coming from the mast and noted two different configurations used between the boom / mast and the base of the vang / mast.

The gooseneck for the boom has the boom part rotating around a pin held in place by the mast part. That is the pin is fixed, everything rotates around the pin. See image on left - arrow shows a lock screw.

For the vang, the gooseneck is fixed to the pin and it is the pin that rotates within the part fitted to the mast. See image on right arrow shows a cotter pin.

My 1st question is . . . are both configurations correct? If not, which one is?

Question #2 - Note the bolt / nylon nut connecting the boom to the gooseneck in the image on the left. This does not seem right to me. Should it not be a pin?

Question #3 - Does anyone know where to get parts for Z-DIFFUSION booms. I think I need to replace part labelled 1083 in the left image.
