Harken battcar in Nassau?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a place in Nassau that might stock Harken hardware? I destroyed a battcar and need a replacement.

Thanks is advance.
Gary

Re: Harken battcar in Nassau?

You might try the marine store on East Bay across the street from the Poop Deck. But prepare yourself for sticker shock — many of the items are 300-400% of retail price.

Might have better luck tracking down someone in Florida who’s about to cross and ask them to stop at a West Marine.

Good luck.

Re: Harken battcar in Nassau?

I found Nassau to be bereft of any useful marine stores. Sure, there are a few but nothing like we have in the US. Former poster is right about sticker shock. You might be better off having a part shipped in and pay the tax and duties.

Check out Phillips sailmakers in Nassau. They did a good job fixing my sail. I asked him why there are not more sailmakers in the bahamas given all the racing and sailing and he said they all go to Miami to get new sails.

Send me the part number you need and I can quote you on it with shipping from Miami.

Re: Harken battcar in Nassau?

Thanks for the info, but I've found a way to borrow one of the two cars from the headboard and make things work.

Hopcar, I'll keep you in mind next time I break something. Thanks!
