Harken MKIV-2E Furler Motor

My main jib furling motor stopped working (Harken MKIV 2E).

• The relay is working fine, delivering +13v or -13v, depending upon direction of rotation.
• I measured the voltage at the power leads entering the furler housing (I used needles to penetrate the insulation).
• There is no drop in voltage, comparing the relay readings to the furler readings, which indicates minimal or zero current flow.
• There is no hum or mechanical noise from the furler when either switch is pressed.
• The manual cranking option ultimately slips, without turning the foil.

I'm guessing that I have an open-circuit condition of some sort, inside the furler. Or possibly there is some sort of mechanical jam.

• The furler has worked well, until this week.
• The forestay was replaced in January, 2022
• After re-wiring the furler and installing the jib, I used it to furl the jib without issues.
• It has been sitting at the dock since then, without use since then.

Anyone have an idea what might be the issue? I'll call Harken tomorrow.

Looks like the motor is toast. The furler is working ok using the auxiliary handle (the gearing is so high that I thought is wasn't working). Rewinding the motor is an option, but local shops think it will cost as much as a new motor. We'll see what Harken wants for one.
