Has anyone seen this type of washer with a plastic cap?

Hi, I recently had to replace a broken block on my deck and it was secured using a bold thru the deck and the other side inside the galley has a type of washer/cap I've not been able to find.

There was a flat washer then a washer with a raised edge on top of that and then the but to tighten it all down. A plastic cap snapped onto the raised washer to make things look nice and tidy in the galley.

I've looked everywhere - but have not yet found a replacement... All stainless of course! The raised washers in the attached photo were bent removing them :-)

Many thanks for your help.

David

David,

Hard to tell from your description. Can you post a photo?

It may be a Belleville washer but can’t tell for sure.

Or this

I googled screw covers to locate these.

Snap button caps: A cheaper alternative to the standard "acorn nut". A real craftsman would finish off all the interior screw threads by cutting them down to just the necessary length, and then putting an acorn nut over them, instead of a hex nut, so they are properly and aesthetically finished.

See also Snap Caps. Used to cover screw heads on license plates. Also available at Discount Auto and/or NAPA Auto Supplies.

FWIW...
