Installation of non load bearing deck hardware.

I've got a couple of line bags sitting around that I'd like to install. These are simple bags with unadorned canvas straps that they are supposed to hang from. I'm wondering what methods folks have had success with mounting stuff like this? I was thinking that maybe pressing a male snap fitting into the straps and then gluing the matching female snaps in an appropriate location on the cabin top or companionway? I've seen snaps that have a self tapping screw in them but I hate the idea of screwing into my cored deck, even if it is something that is little to no load like a line bag. Same sort of thing applies to methods of securing cockpit cushions I would think. Anyone have any experiences that would be useful to know?
