Joining stainless tubing

I want to add some stainless tubing between my pushpit on the stern and boom ballows support. This is to increase safety, but also provide a fixture to attach additional solar panels.

My plan was to use jaw clamps and end caps, designed for bimini construction, but I'm having trouble sourcing one large enough for the boom gallows side (42.5mm). I was planning on silver brazing the end caps in place as well, to make them sufficiently strong (as opposed to the set screws). I also think I would have to shim the bolt with washers where it passes through the end cap and jaw clamp, as these tend not to be rigid fits.

However, maybe there's a better way to go about this and I just haven't figured out the right search terms?

The previous owner attached a stainless tube between two stations, for our other solar panels, using hose clamps and a u shaped piece of stainless. It works fine, I don't know if it's safe or if I like it though.

Re: Joining stainless tubing

I put 4 6ft sections for top lifelines out of the cockpit. I used just that and stainless Ts to connect. I need to drill out the set screws and through-bolt it for added safety

Re: Joining stainless tubing

I thru bolted mine at first but didn’t care for the ends sticking out. Took the bolts out and used large SSpop rivets. These were flush and looked better. Very strong.
