Maybe.
The purpose is to let them pass easily all the way from the boom and up, without obstackles.

Ah! We were under the impression that you had to take the sliders out when putting the sail cover on.

You're right, Jedi, I have to remove the inserted split over the gate (keeping the slides in position), and then pass all the sliders through the hole of the open gate, to lower the sail enough to put the cover on.
Annoying

Same procedure in reverse, before heading out again.
