Mast Gate Options

My old cast Isomat mast gate no longer catches, the thumbscrew receiving piece is gone and instead of fiddling with it for another season I would like to replace it with an updated one. I'd be interested in hearing about experiences with threaded/hinged/gated/fixed/rivets etc. Thx,D

Although I can’t recommend Rig-Rite, as a vendor:

A photo of your current setup would help give people ideas about what might work best.

I have talked to this company, but haven't purchased because I still need to complete the necessary measurements. Sounded good to me. https://mastgates.com/

Re: Mast Gate Options

Got the the boat today and snapped this pic and took measurements as well. Mastgates.com looks like an option. I'd love a snap-in solution I can make myself. I'm not cheap....but I am frugal.....maybe I can come up with something on my own.

Re: Mast Gate Options

Diane, I worked up a fiberglass and resin one on mine. Not enough water time to tell you if it is any good or not. It's on my 'Interior Refit' thread. If you could drill and tap 2 new holes in the mast you should be able to get something frugal and/or simple to work.

Thanks Spot, looks like a nice refit, I look forward to reading through.
