Re: mast repair with heavier mast...?

My boat is bigger, but the Hood Stoway Mast is considerably heavier that the standard mast (I do not have the numbers at hand but we are talking several hundred pounds). She sails fine, back and forth across the Atlantic, the Med and Scandinavia, the only thing is that it has given the boat a slightly forward trim which is a bit annoying. I would never have switched from the original Nautor mast, but the Hood mast was there since many years when I bought the boat in 2013.
With this minor increase in weight, you do not have to worry.

Brian I’m on the east coast and Bahamas, they are out there just hard trying to get one when you need one. When I was cruising round I saw dozens, but now I need one it’s getting hard to find them.

Good Luck, regards Steven
