Navtec and hydraulic oils

Hello All,

New to this system this year and been attempting to research a few things that I'm hoping someone can answer for me.

I've attached a few photos for identification. I believe this unit to be System V A310 MF-04? Attempting to confirm for seal kit.

The question driving me crazy. on the system 5 manual it states to use #10 hydraulic oil or 10W non-detergent oil. was curious what everyone uses. Secondary on Lewmars website it stated to use the following oils, is this for newer equipment?

Shell Tellus T15 New Name Tellus S2 VX 15
Mobil DTE 10 Excel 15

Much appreciated. Very new to this.

Rory

Re: Navtec and hydraulic oils

I am confused. The manual say to use #10 hydraulic oil or 10W non-detergent oil. That’s a pretty clear recommendation. Just do it.

That’s exactly what Mobil DTE 10 Excel 15 is. A #10 hydraulic oil. You are way over the top in over analysis.

Re: Navtec and hydraulic oils

To the OP:
I have a Navtec system 5 as well.
Yes, I too was a bit confused about the specific brand recommendations in the Manual. Don't forget that manual is many years old. Just go to your local hydraulic service/repair company, bring a 1L empty container, and ask nicely for them to fill it with 10W hydraulic oil. 10W is just "light" hydraulic oil. Not rocket science.
