Now that NavTec is gone...?

If I understand correctly, NavTec is gone. And while RigRite is still servicing rod rigging...what are the east coast options now?

Are riggers still sourcing new rod and fittings (stems, sockets) or is it a question of having to change over completely if a boat needs new rod rigging?

Is it totally impractical to consider going to Dyneema with new fittings (are they available? Feasible?) to replace an old NavTec rig on a sloop pushing 40 feet?

Any riggers near or south of Annapolis that are familiar with this?

Looks lime Hayn Marine in Connecticut has the rights to Navtec and continues to support rod rigging.

Re: Now that NavTec is gone...?

Jim-
I'd seen that, but also heard that NT themselves had gone under. I'm guessing along the lines that Pitchon said, that someone bought out the rights to the name, the remaining stock, and perhaps in continuing the business. Dunno. I guess a call to Hayn might get some information about that.
Thanks.

Jay Herman, Annapolis Rigging. 410-269-8035

Colin Linehan (sp?): 410-693-8068

Both have been riggers for years (decades) & know their business including rod rigging. Jay runs the "big" shop while Colin runs a smaller operation. I would trust my rigging to both.

If you want South of Annapolis, Hartge Yacht Yard in Galesville (Alex or Luke) 410-867-2188. Equally as good.
