Pass up an assym spinnaker because it is 195% of J?

I see a used poleless cruising spinnaker that has the right length at the luff.. but the foot is 195% of J. Rules of thumb I've seen say it should be up to 180% of J. So we're talking about an extra two feet.

I have next to no exposure to spinnakers... just think it might be fun to play with sometimes when I happen to have good crew and light wind.

Do you think this would serve OK? I will never use it enough to buy one tailor made for my boat.

If its a great price then go for it. At worst sell it in a years time. Meanwhile flying it in calm conditions with plenty of space around you. A snuffer will make launching and recovering so much simpler. We often fly ours with just one sheet rather than two, if we are unlikely to need to gybe as it keeps it simply.
